Anna Capasso, MD, PhD, is a medical oncologist in UT Health Austin’s Livestrong Cancer Institutes. She is also a part of both UT Health Austin’s Hereditary Cancer Screening and Risk Reduction care team and UT Health Austin’s CaLM Care Team. She specializes in treating cancer and providing medical care for patients diagnosed with cancer. Additionally, Dr. Capasso is an assistant professor in the Dell Medical School Department of Oncology and a courtesy assistant professor in the Dell Medical School Department of Internal Medicine.
Dr. Capasso earned her medical degree from Seconda Universita’ degli Studi di Napoli in Naples, Italy and her doctorate in medical oncology development theraputics from the Unviersity of Colorado Denver. She also completed both an internship in medical oncology and general pathology and a fellowship in medical oncology at Seconda Universita’ degli Studi di Napoli in Naples, Italy.
Dr. Capasso is the recipient of several awards and honors for her work and some of her publications. In addition to her publications, she oversees several research activities and quality improvement projects. She also mentors students and is a member of the European Society of Medical Oncology, American Society of Cancer Research, and Women in Cancer Research.
