David Salkowski is an Assistant Professor of Musicology at the University of North Florida. His research focuses on musical entanglements with modernism and modernity in Russia and Southeastern Europe, with emphases on music and religion, music and labor, and music and migration. His forthcoming book, Music for an Imagined Liturgy, explores the religious community and institutional sinews of Russian Orthodoxy through its music on the eve of revolution.
