Buchanan, a Ph.D. candidate at the University of Texas at Austin, studies public policy and environmental politics at the state and local level in the US and China. He is especially interested in the responsiveness of policy to public opinion and how policy outcomes feedback on the public. In his research, Buchanan makes extensive use of satellite data, spatial analysis, and structural equation models (SEM’s).
