“I began my career serving as Special Assistant to Governor Greg Abbott. My time with Governor Abbott – first as Attorney General and then as Governor – inspired me to attend law school. Following law school, I returned to Austin, where I served as Chief of Staff, then Associate General Counsel for the Lower Colorado River Authority (LCRA). In those roles, I engaged on a wide range of policy and legal issues – including electric power, natural resources, telecommunications, and agriculture.
During my tenure at LCRA, I was also tapped to be interim chief of staff at the state’s primary healthcare agency – the Health and Human Services Commission – at the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. I helped to coordinate the agency’s general operations as well as its unique role in the State’s response to the pandemic.
I am also an experienced civil litigator with representative experience which includes both businesses and individuals in high-stakes, million-dollar disputes.
I earned my Bachelor of Arts in biblical & theological studies from Biola University (California) and my J.D. from Baylor University School of Law. I have also completed the nationally acclaimed Energy Executive Course through the University of Idaho’s College of Business and Economics.
My wife, Chloe, and I have four children and live in Fort Worth.”
