This presentation reports on the results of a study on the assessment of communicative effectiveness of L2 Arabic speech, adopting listener-based framework (Munro & Derwing, 2015). After discussing the results, the presentation concludes with theoretical and methodological implications for L2 speech research as well as implications for assessment and instruction.
