Hole"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Michael Hole, M.D., MBA, FAAP is a physician, professor, author and entrepreneur at The University of Texas at Austin, where he is founder and executive director at <a href=\"https:\/\/theimpactfactory.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">The Impact Factory<\/a>, a cross-sector engine for social innovation and civic participation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hole is a &#8220;street pediatrician&#8221; onboard a mobile clinic serving families experiencing poverty and homelessness. He has over 60 academic publications cited nearly 11,000 times on health care financing, education disparities, economic mobility and more. Hole teaches U.S. health and social policy, community engagement, human-centered design and entrepreneurship to undergraduate and graduate students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In 2016, <em>Forbes<\/em> named Hole to America&#8217;s &#8220;30 Under 30&#8221; list after starting <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mystreetcred.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">StreetCred<\/a>, a national organization helping low-income families file taxes and build wealth while they wait in hospitals and clinics. He co-founded <a href=\"https:\/\/www.earlybirdfund.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Early Bird<\/a>, a scholarship program for babies in families with low income, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mainstreetrelief.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Main Street Relief<\/a>, a nationwide volunteer corps helping small businesses survive and move forward from economic crises. Hole is founding advisor of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.goodapplefoods.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Good Apple<\/a>, a grocery delivery company fighting food insecurity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hole began his career as a case manager fighting child trafficking and domestic violence in Middle America before leading campaigns to help fund a new elementary school in post-conflict Uganda and an orphanage for abandoned children with disabilities in post-earthquake Haiti.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A first-generation college graduate from rural Indiana, Hole earned his M.D. and MBA from Stanford University and completed pediatrics residency at Harvard Medical School. Hole received a B.S. in Spanish and biological sciences from Butler University, where he was top student and now serves on the board of trustees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In 2019, Presidents Clinton and George W. Bush named Hole a <a href=\"https:\/\/lbj.utexas.edu\/lbj-school-dell-med-professor-michael-hole-named-one-fifth-annual-class-presidential-leadership\">Presidential Leadership Scholar<\/a>. He is a member of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mensa.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Mensa<\/a> and former Global Shaper of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.weforum.org\/events\/the-davos-agenda-2021\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">World Economic Forum<\/a>.
