Ron Caloss (MEd 1973) enjoyed an outstanding career in public education. He served students in Bandera Independent School District (ISD) as a teacher and principal. He served communities across Texas for 23 years as an award-winning superintendent and became an in-demand speaker. Three years after earning his master’s, Caloss was promoted from principal at Bandera High School to superintendent of Bandera ISD. Caloss went on to serve as superintendent of Southwest ISD, Lamar Consolidated ISD and Hurst-Euless Bedford ISD. He also served as President of the Texas Association of Suburban/Mid-Urban Schools. In 1995, he was named the Texas Association of School Boards Superintendent of the Year Regional winner. After leaving public education, Caloss joined Morgan Keegan as a public finance banker. He underwrote bonds for school districts for 20 years. Caloss retired from his second career almost one year ago.
