I am a Postdoctoral Fellow at UT Austin’s Proyecto Latino. My research is at the intersection of election law and political psychology and my academic ambition is to make elections as free and fair as possible through empirical research. My current work takes an existing puzzle in voting rights (racial discrepancies in ballot rejection) and uses a mixed-methods approach to measure the severity of the problem, identify its root causes, and test the effectiveness of various remedies for policy makers to consider. My research has been cited in federal voting rights lawsuits and has been supported by the APSA Minority Fellowship, the Cota Robles Fellowship, and has received an honorable mention from the Ford Foundation. In my free time I enjoy playing soccer and visiting UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
