His research centers social movements in Iran and Southwest Asia\/North Africa, as well as movements in the region\u2019s diasporas. He is the author of the new book,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/nupress.northwestern.edu\/9780810148000\/postrevolutionary-conditions\/\"><em>Post\/Revolutionary Conditions: Renewed Visions of the Iranian Freedom Struggle<\/em><\/a>, published by Northwestern University Press (2025). Some of his writings appear in\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/read.dukeupress.edu\/jmews\/article-abstract\/16\/2\/103\/166280\/Feminist-Historical-Writing-in-Postrevolutionary?redirectedFrom=fulltext\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><em>Journal of Middle East Women\u2019s Studies<\/em><\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.tandfonline.com\/doi\/full\/10.1080\/13504630.2022.2109618\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><em>Social Identities<\/em><\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/manifold.umn.edu\/read\/ces0802-03\/section\/8308fea1-8a0e-4bc5-a36e-edd5f82d9eda\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><em>Critical<\/em><\/a><em>\u00a0Ethnic Studies\u00a0<\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.jstor.org\/stable\/10.5749\/jcritethnstud.3.1.0023?seq=1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><em>Journal<\/em><\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/frontiers.utah.edu\/gender-politics-iranian-revolution\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><em>Frontiers<\/em><\/a>,\u00a0<em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.jadaliyya.com\/Details\/41874\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Jadaliyya<\/a><\/em>, and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/inthesetimes.com\/article\/iran-protest-gender-justice-mahsa-zhina-amini-union-labor\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><em>In These Times<\/em><\/a>. Ghandehari&#8217;s new queer fiction piece \u00a0\u201cThe River and the Story\u201d appears in\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/mozaikphilanthropy.org\/e-zine-2024\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><em>MOZAIK<\/em><\/a>\u00a0and follows the story of two childhood friends separated by political violence in Iran and Kurdistan in the 1980s. His work has been supported by the American Council for Learned Societies and the Persian Heritage Foundation among other awards and programs.\u00a0Also a performer, his most recent performance credits include Nassim Soleimanpour\u2019s acclaimed play \u201cWhite Rabbit Red Rabbit\u201d in association with Aurora Nova Productions and a cover of the popular Iranian freedom song Aftabkaran (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/reel\/DANBG5HPNxz\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">&#8220;The Sun Planters&#8221;\u00a0<\/a>) produced by Cato Creative.
