Welcome to IranCast – a podcast series where we discuss important scholarly and trade books on Iran, and occasionally significant articles that present intellectual interventions in our understanding of Iranian history, politics, and culture.

We launched an earlier version of this podcast initially in response to Iran’s Jina Uprising of 2022. Back then, we called it Woman, Life, Freedom: All In On Iran. Our intention was to archive experts’ insights immediately in the wake of those events, close to the details, and to leave an oral resource for the public and scholars alike. Those conversations are still on our podcast site, offering in-depth analysis and reflection on one of the most important uprisings in contemporary times; often called the first feminist revolution. We believe those are valuable resources, and we hope that you will listen in on those episodes.

Moving forward, in our reshaped IranCast series we will attend to a wider set of political, cultural, and social issues regarding contemporary Iran; a landscape as tumultuous as during the uprising, with significant transformations taking place – developments that are as important for Iran as they are for the region, and for the world at large.
