Faegheh Shirazi is a Professor in the Department of Middle Eastern Studies, at the University of Texas, Austin. She earned her PhD from Ohio State University. Shirazi’s specialisations and research interests include popular religious practices, rituals and their influence on gender identity and discourse in Muslim societies, with primary focus on Iran, Islamic veiling, Material culture, textile & clothing.
Shirazi has numerous publications in diverse academic peer-reviewed journals at national and international levels.
