Dr. Scott W. Bauguess is the Director of the Salem Center program in Financial Markets Regulation. Prior to joining the McCombs Business School faculty, he was the Deputy Chief Economist at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, where he supervised the economic analyses in recommendations to the Commission to enact federal rules related to corporate finance and governance, asset management, OTC derivatives, and structured finance. He received a B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Illinois, and an M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering and Ph.D. in Finance from Arizona State University.
