Alejandra De Angulo, Ph.D., is a research fellow at the Livestrong Cancer Institutes at Dell Medical School.
De Angulo has a doctorate in nutritional sciences from The University of Texas at Austin. De Angulo’s research expertise includes investigating the role of immunological changes associated with obesity and aging. De Angulo’s dissertation work addressed the relationship between aging, inflammation and prostate cancer progression.
As a postdoctoral fellow in Baylor College of Medicine, De Angulo worked on a project to better understand the development of adipose tissue and its changes during obesity.
Additionally, De Angulo has taught diverse undergraduate and graduate level courses at UT Austin, including fundamentals of nutrition, community nutrition, vitamins and minerals and nutrition and cancer.
