Before becoming a full-time author, he covered the U.S. military for the\u00a0<em>Washington Post<\/em>\u00a0and the\u00a0<em>Wall Street Journal <\/em>for\u00a025 years, receiving two Pulitzer Prizes as part of reporting teams at\u00a0those newspapers.\u00a0He is the author of six books, including Pulitzer finalist\u00a0<em>Fiasco: The American Military Adventure in Iraq<\/em>,\u00a0<em>2003-05.\u00a0<\/em>His most recent book was\u00a0<em>Churchill and Orwell: The Fight for Freedom<\/em>.
