Sarah Sonner is Associate Director for Curation at the Briscoe Center for American History. She joined the Briscoe Center in 2016 and oversees the curation and development of the exhibit program and material culture collections. Sarah has curated exhibits from the center’s collections on topics including the American South, civil rights and social justice, news media history, and photography, including Struggle for Justice: Forty Years of Civil Rights Photography, Abbie Hoffman: American Activist, and Freedom Papers: Evidence of Emancipation. She received her PhD in Cultural Studies from Goldsmiths College, University of London.
