Michael Barnes is writer and journalist who covers the people, places, culture, and history of Austin and Texas for the Austin American-Statesman, Austin360, and the USA Today Network. In addition to his work as a columnist, Michael has also taught journalism and history at several Austin-area universities and conducts workshops on media relations.
