Julia Mickenberg is a professor of American Studies at the University of Texas at Austin and an award-winning author, most recently of American Girls in Red Russia: Chasing the Soviet Dream (University of Chicago Press, 2017). At UT she teaches undergraduate and graduate courses on US Cultural History; Women Radicals and Reformers; Society, Culture and Politics in the 1960s; Life Writing; and other subjects. She holds an AB degree from Brown University and a PhD from the University of Minnesota.
